Metamorphosis exhibition is the result of the collaboration between the Architects Paolo Didonè, Devvy Comacchio and Make that studio – Nicola Russo, Dea Sgarbossa – in occasion of the Bologna Water Design 2014. The research begun with the project Subgeometry, which is the result of a collection of photographic documents captured in the Gulf of Thailand during April 2014. From those pictures we have analyzed the geometry present in the envolved ecosystem, in order to create patterns suitable for design in the architectural field.
The beauty and complexity of these underwater scenery is very wide and the connection between the organic and the artificial world was immediately sprang to the eyes while diving. From there, was born the idea of let them live out of the water and carry it in housing.
The objective of the project is to give an organic imprint, both visual and tactile to the architectural world, following strict geometries, such as those hidden in nature. Metamorphosis, which is the object of the collaboration of the two studios, foresees the application on ceramic substrates of the revisited and adapted patterns.
