Marcin Rusak is a multidisciplinary designer and artist interested in ideas of value, ephemerality and aesthetics. Specializing in storytelling, process and material investigation his work often incorporates research, object and installation as well as visual creations to explore overlooked details of our lives which recreated and reimagined are shown again in a different light.
His Flora collection is a series of products which investigates new decorative elements within every day objects. The collection includes a lamp, a table and a screen realized using a particular marbled material made of dried flowers cast in black resin. The inspiration came from Marcin’s juvenile experience, grown among the abandoned glasshouses of the center of Warsaw, observing the work of his father and grandfather, both professional flowers growers. The result is a experimental project that embodies the philosophies of Art Nouveau in a contemporary context.
