La Carmeta is a renovation project by Catalan architecture studio RÄS. The general concept is conceived around an equipped wall that runs parallel to the existing structure. This element has the function of connection between the living/kitchen area and the entrance, defining at the same time the most private part of the house in which are located bedrooms and bathrooms. To optimize the space along the corridor, the wall is equipped with a series of closets that create a storage area fitted between the doors of the night-time zone.
RÄS is an architecture studio from Barcelona that grew among the floods –and the delusions– from another generation. We closely walk with our projects, questioning assumed models and redrawing possible relationships between the architect, the space and who inhabits it. The result is a thoughtful and efficient architecture, which is both sensitive and bold and as reasonable as shocking.
