Arizona Gold : Sam Launius

Sam Launius is a 21 y/o boy with an interest in photography. Simpleton-interloper has been his viewpoint. The means are pedestrian and the ways are petty upon a pedestal. Common objects are isolated to pluralize something singular, taking on new meaning like a single word repeated to onomatopoeia. What is in frame is as important as what is out of frame. Every capture is an act of therapeutic censorship for blissful living.

Arizona Gold is a project realized tracing and retracing Tucson’s surface street grid on bicycle just after sunrise, eluding the desert’s summer heat while soaking in its surreal topographies of metropolitan sprawl.
