Flaws Collection : Marie Liebhardt

Flaws is a collection of vases which are unique by their textures. The collection is highlighted by a unique trait, their irregularities.Streets, bridges, walls, are all marked by flaws. As an evidence of passing time, the skin of the city evolves, changes color and texture.“Flaws” is inspired by this deterioration process. Based on experimental material researches, it aims to highlight those textures we pass every day without paying attention to.

The metal collection is made by aging copper and brass. These metal parts are framed and
highlighted in combining them with colored porcelain. The metal pieces show metal can be used raw, in so many colors and textures, and will continue to change in time.

The porcelain collection is made in pouring really thin layers of colored porcelain in a plaster mold. In drying, some parts of the layers stay in the mold, some come with the vases. This process creates uncontrolled textures, similar to old walls.
