Rhodanie : Bertrand Stofleth

Rhodanie is a book about the homonym documentary photographic project by Bertrand Stofleth, who traversed the Rhone river since his source on the glacier in Switzerland to the Mediterranean. A collection of images realized on section southernmost, from Pont-Saint-Esprit to Mediterranean, which invite to look differently at what is played after the floods, between nature — savage or domesticated — and men who live these bordering territories of the river. Published by Actes Sud, the book is available here.
Rhodanie will be exhibited in Geneva, Switzerland, from 12.2 to 29.5.2016. The solo exhibition is curated by the Center of the photography of Geneva and the SIG.

Born in 1978, Bertrand Stofleth lives and works in Lyon. After university studies in art history, Bertrand graduated from the National School of Photography in Arles in 2002. His research focuses mainly on the relationship between territories, landscape and representation.
