12 – 15 | Suche is a project by Berlin based photographer and graphic designer Ann Kristin Kühl.
12 – 15 | Suche represents a personal photographic journey, a constant exploration over several years whose extent was suddenly revealed to me as I was sorting through my analog and digital photo collections. In this moment I discovered pictures that I previously hadn’t paid any attention to in my work as a photographer – they didn’t even manage to make it onto the fridge – but I recognized relationships between these forgotten images, thematic connections and analogies that, if collected into a photo series, could be united into an exciting new whole. Ranging from snapshots to still life compositions, the photos in the collection take on new meanings through their recontextualization and deal with ideas like beauty, memory, the sensation of being alive, of being at home and being far away. The Leporello, is a fine art print on a six-meter-long newspaper roll.
