Miguel Porlan

Educated in illustration and graphic design in Barcelona, his hometown, Miguel Porlan started working as an illustrator painting murals for businesses and private homes. Since 2008 his illustrations have been published in various media like magazines, newspapers, posters or album covers. He believes in illustration as a means of communication, in simplicity as a way of beauty and in image as a way of poetry. He has worked for The New Yorker, The New York Times, The Washington Post and The Boston Globe among others. In 2012 he was selected at the Society of Illustrators and the 2013 Communication Arts Illustration Annual 54. In 2009 he obtained the Injuve Creacion Joven prize, granted by the Ministry of Equality of  Spain, and selected in the 2nd CJ Picture Book Awards held in South  Korea. At present, he works as a freelance illustrator and lives in Poitiers, France.
